High School & Enrichment Recognition

High School & Enrichment Recognition

Musical study doesn’t just build artistry — it can also support academic pathways and enrichment programs.

  • RCM Exams & High School Credit
In British Columbia, students can earn high school fine arts credits through RCM exams:
    • Level 6 + Intermediate Rudiments → Music 10 credit
    • Level 7 + Advanced Rudiments → Music 11 credit
    • Level 8 + Advanced Rudiments → Music 12 credit
This recognition allows students to celebrate their musical achievements while also fulfilling graduation requirements. (Families should confirm details with their school counsellor, as district policies may vary.)
  • Volunteer Hours & Community Engagement
Students can gain valuable volunteer hours by performing at community events, mentoring younger learners, or helping with studio recitals. These experiences build leadership, teamwork, and responsibility while meeting graduation and extracurricular requirements.
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award
Music study and community performances often qualify toward the Duke of Edinburgh Award, supporting students’ growth in commitment, responsibility, and achievement.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs
For students enrolled in the IB Diploma Program, private lessons, practicing, and performing can be applied toward the Creativity component of CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). We help students track and reflect on their musical contributions so they can maximize the benefit of their IB experience.
